Polk State faculty, staff, students, family, and friends helped raise money to fight heart disease and stroke by taking part in the 2018 Heart Walk on Sept. 29 at Publix Field at Joker Marchant Stadium in Lakeland.

Polk State’s theme for this year’s walk was “Heart and Sole.”

Before the walk, Jeanne Wagner of Polk State’s Corporate College received the 2018 Lifestyle Change Award.

Designed to promote physical activity and heart-healthy living, the American Heart Association’s Heart Walk raises funds to save lives from this country’s No. 1 and No. 4 killers-heart ease and stroke.
