The application for Polk State College’s Cardiovascular Technology Program is open through May 30 for the 2025-2026 Academic Year. This highly sought-after, limited-access program prepares students for high-wage, in-demand jobs in a growing career field in healthcare.
The Associate in Science in Cardiovascular Technology prepares students for careers as cardiovascular technologists who assist physicians during angioplasty and stenting, monitor a patient’s hemodynamic status during procedures, and provide professional and compassionate pre- and post-procedural patient care. Graduates find employment opportunities in cardiac catheterization labs in hospitals and freestanding clinics as professionally licensed healthcare associates.
Polk State Cardiovascular Technology boasts a 100% job-placement rate (2021-2023), as well as a 92% credentialing exam pass rate on first attempts (2021-2023), illustrating the program’s success in preparing cardiovascular technologists for careers in the rewarding and growing field. The need for cardiovascular technologists and technicians is predicted to grow 10% (2022-2032), faster than the average growth of other occupations, according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics.
