Polk State closes early Thursday due to internet outage, students with Thursday evening classes should monitor emails

Polk State College has closed its campuses and centers early Thursday due to an internet outage. Students who have Thursday evening classes are asked to monitor their College emails and Canvas accounts for communication from their professors regarding whether their classes will meet, take place online, or be canceled.
The College’s campuses and centers will remain closed, as scheduled, through the Memorial Day holiday and will reopen on Tuesday, May 28.
Enrollment will continue for the second session of six-week summer classes, which will begin on June 24. Current students can register for classes through their Passport. Prospective students must submit a free online application to Polk State at polk.edu/admission-aid/admissionsteps.
Students who need assistance while the College is closed can email registrar@polk.edu.
