Postsecondary Education Readiness Test returns to campuses

The Postsecondary Education Readiness Test (PERT) is an assessment used to determine a student’s placement in Polk State College courses. During the COVID-19 public health emergency, the College administered the PERT remotely. Beginning Monday, March 6, 2023, the PERT will return to Polk State’s testing centers.
HOW TO TAKE THE PERT IN PERSON
- Apply to Polk State College. You will receive a welcome letter via email with additional information.
- To request to take the PERT, please send an email to the email address below that applies to you:
- Last name beginning with A-M: email OnlineAdvisingA@Polk.edu
- Last name beginning with N-Z: email OnlineAdvisingZ@Polk.edu
New applicants should wait three business days to send a request to allow time for processing.
- A student success advisor will respond to finalize your request.
Students should allow at least 2 business days to process the initial request.
- You will receive an email with instructions for scheduling your appointment from PERT@polk.edu within 2 business days of being approved for testing by an advisor.
- All PERT testing is done by appointment, which must be made at least one day in advance.
KNOW BEFORE YOU GO
All testers are required to show photo identification (copies or photos of identification will not be accepted).
Acceptable forms of ID include the following.
- Driver’s license
- State-issued ID
- U.S. passport
- Official school ID
