Road closure to affect Polk State Winter Haven Campus traffic

A road closure is underway that may cause Polk State College students and employees longer travel times when driving to and from the Winter Haven Campus.
Construction crews for Tucker Paving have begun roadway repairs along Avenue K Northeast, according to the City of Winter Haven Public Works Department. The repairs will take place between First Street/East Lake Silver Drive Northeast and East Lake Martha Drive/Fairfax Drive Northeast.
The work is scheduled to last through May 2024. Those commuting to Polk State are encouraged to find an alternate route or to allow extra time for slowdowns.
As repairs are made, Avenue K Northeast will be closed to all through traffic and open only to residents. Signs and digital boards have been placed to direct traffic safely around the closures.
